Cliftonville defender Michael Newberry has died suddenly on his 27th birthday, the Northern Irish club announced on Monday.
The English defender, who joined Cliftonville in July this year, had made 24 appearances for the Reds this season.
Two matches in the Sports Direct Premiership have been postponed as a mark of respect - Cliftonville's fixture against Dungannon Swifts and Linfield's match with Larne.
Newberry had established himself in Northern Irish football following spells at Newcastle United and in Iceland, before becoming a key player in Belfast.

Newberry began his career at his hometown club Newcastle United, joining their academy at age 11.
In 2016, he was awarded the prestigious 'Wor Jackie trophy', presented annually to Newcastle United's top young talent.
After making 23 appearances for Newcastle's Under-21s during the Rafa Benitez era, Newberry reflected on his award: "When you look at the names on it, I still get a little bit shell-shocked. My name is on there with the likes of Andy Carroll, it's a bit mad."
In 2018, the defender moved to Iceland, signing for Vikingur Olafsvik, where he played before making his mark in Northern Irish football.
He also represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level.

Following his time in Iceland, Newberry joined Linfield where he enjoyed significant success over three years.
During his spell at Windsor Park, the defender claimed two Irish Premiership titles with the Belfast club.
After his successful stint with Linfield, Newberry made the move to Cliftonville in July 2023.

Linfield FC expressed their devastation at the news, stating: "The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club are with Michael's family and friends at this very sad time."
The club also agreed to the postponement of their match against Larne due to Newberry's close association with their players and staff.
Cliftonville FC released a statement saying: "Cliftonville FC are devastated to learn of the sudden death of Michael Newberry.

The NI Football League also expressed their sorrow, saying they were "deeply saddened" by the news.
"Everyone connected with the NI Football League pass on our heartfelt condolences to Michael's family, friends and everyone connected with Cliftonville Football Club at this sad time," they added.
Both scheduled matches were called off immediately following the announcement of Newberry's passing.
