Micah Richards has revealed he bumped into Roy Keane while hungover and has apologised to fans 'if I was rude' after boarding a flight with the Manchester United icon.

The Manchester City hero has been working for the BBC out in Germany, along with Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Thomas Frank and David Moyes.

Richards has now been left to regret the 'worst decision' of his life while working at Euro 2024, however.

The former England star, speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, revealed he had an all-nighter before boarding an early flight the next morning.

And he hilariously revealed he bumped into close friend Keane, with the pair both usually working for Sky Sports.

"Well, we had a few sherbets didn’t we, for those of you who don’t know, that’s a few glasses of red," he told Alan Shearer.

"I was feeling a little bit ropey.

"We came here and were filming the Rest is Football with Gary, I was with David Moyes and Thomas Frank as well.

"It just became a long night and I left here about 2.30 in the morning and there’s a flight at 6am, I googled it and thought shall I go for it.

"I went for it, the worst decision of my life.

"I don’t like turbulence anyway because I am scared of flying.

"I thought I’ll have a little nap, but turbulence on the flight.

"I didn’t get back until about 10 o’clock in the morning. I’d not slept a wink, straight to bed."

Richards then proceeded to apologise to any fans he may have upset - and said Keane alarmed him by grabbing him.

"It was an early flight, I could see a few people and they were trying to catch your eye and wanted to talk about football but I was knackered, so I am sorry if I was rude, I don't mean to be," he added.

"I was walking up and someone grabbed me, I thought what the f**k are you doing.

"He literally just lifted his peak and it was Roy Keane.

"I was like, what are the chances of being next to you?

Richards, always so full of life, laughed about the incident and is set to be working for tonight's match between England and Slovenia.

The Three Lions are unbeaten at the tournament so far, having picked up four points from a possible six.

They beat Serbia 1-0 in their first game, with Jude Bellingham netting the only goal of the game.

But that was then followed by a dire 1-1 draw with Denmark, with Morten Hjulmand's screamer cancelling out an early effort from Harry Kane.

England are already assured to be playing in the knockout stages.

Yet victory over Slovenia would ensure they finish top of their group for the second European Championships in a row.
