The winger impressed during a 3-3 draw with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has lavished praise on Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood after his side's 3-3 draw with Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old joined the LaLiga side back in the summer after it was deemed best for the youngster to resume his career away from Old Trafford.

After not playing for 18 months, Greenwood has taken some time to adapt to life in his new surroundings.

Yet the forward has started to come good in recent weeks and was electric as his side drew 3-3 with Atletico on Tuesday night.

The winger was involved in all three of his side's goals during the fixture at the Wanda Metropolitano.

And Bordalas has now hailed Greenwood, admitting he's been treated really well during his stint in Spain.

"A fantastic game, like the whole team," he said.

"I said it from the first day he arrived, he is a fantastic player, who would reach his best level little by little, we have treated him really well and the whole team has played a great game.

"We were punished for some mistakes in the goals, but we are proud of the team's play.

"Football lovers will have enjoyed the game and the impression of a team that has not given up, having conceded the goals the way we did, after having equalised, dominated — any team would have given up at 3-1, but this team never gives up."

Many weren't sure how Greenwood would fare in Spain.

But the United loanee has impressed with seven goal involvements in 14 LaLiga matches so far.

He has found the net three times, with only Borja Mayoral netting more.

And no Getafe player has created more goals. Greenwood has four assists to his name, too.

Antoine Griezmann also discussed Greenwood after the forward's blistering performance in the Spanish capital.

And the France international admitted Atletico couldn't cope with the forward.

"Mason Greenwood was really causing us problems in the second half, we couldn’t stop him and it cost us the game," he rued.

While Greenwood is taking Spain by storm, however, any potential return to United seems unlikely.

United had originally intended to welcome the youngster back into the fold at Old Trafford in the summer.

They ultimately performed a U-turn, however, and felt it was best for Greenwood to resume his career overseas instead.

The forward has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona amid his fine form.

And what ultimately happens remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, United could offload two other players when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.

Jadon Sancho looks set to go, with the former Borussia Dortmund star currently banished from the first-team.

United may even terminate Sancho's contract in order to get him off their wage bill once and for all.

And reports have suggested they're open to offloading Antony, just 18 months after the winger's arrival from Ajax.
