Manchester United staff had worries about Marcus Rashford's lifestyle as far back as autumn 2021 with David Beckham and Wayne Rooney among those to reach out to the player, according to reports.
The forward has received plenty of criticism after recently going clubbing twice in Northern Ireland - before then reporting ill for training.
United have punished Rashford by fining the 26-year-old two weeks' wages and it's currently unclear if he'll be involved in their Premier League clash with Wolves on Thursday.
The England international has been one of the country's footballing role models ever since bursting onto the scene in 2016.

Yet The Sun say United's worries about Rashford date back to Autumn 2021.
It's said that concerns 'were raised' about the 26-year-old enjoying nights out and hosting house parties with friends.
David Beckham has reportedly 'been in contact' with Rashford, along with other club legends such as Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand.
Rooney actually played alongside Rashford, with the pair helping United win trophies such as the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Europa League.
Their interventions came after 'Old Trafford bosses became concerned about a series of worrying allegations' about their No 10's behaviour.
A source is quoted as saying: “The club were alerted to some issues which concerned them.
"People around Marcus believed one solution could be to ask Wayne if he would be good enough to contact Marcus directly and offer support.
“Wayne was only to happy to help. Marcus has always looked up to Wayne — he’s one of his idols — so he was really happy to hear from him.”
Rashford was outstanding last term, plundering home 30 goals across all competitions for the very first time in his career.
However, his form has dropped off with the United star scoring just four goals this season.
After his recent antics in Belfast, Rashford tried to placate manager Erik ten Hag by offering to play against Newport on Sunday.
However, Ten Hag ordered the player to train on his own at Carrington and was tense when quizzed on the subject.
Back in the summer, Rashford split with childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi.
His form previously dipped when the couple separated two years ago, back when the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick ruled the roost.
And another insider said: “Lucia is great for Marcus because she’s a normal girl and knew him before all the money, the cars and the jewellery.x

“When you strip back his personality he isn’t the most confident around women and has the same insecurities most people have.”
A third source says Rashford is 'really struggling' with the burden of having to support his family, too.
And whether the United star can turn his current situation around remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Gary Neville has warned Rashford to be careful and says his decision-making off the field must improve if he's to fulfil his potential.
“To me, going out for a drink or going out for a night out is something that every football player should do and will do, so I’ve got no problem with that whatsoever,” he said.

“They need to enjoy themselves. It’s just all about choices and timing.
“I said this after the Manchester City game. We got beat home by City a few months ago and he went out last night to Chinawhite. I think it was for his birthday.
“I think we had a game against Newcastle on the Wednesday in the Carabao Cup or something like that and I just said ‘look, choose your time’.
“I think Manchester United have just had a winter break. They’ve had a couple of weeks off, so there was a better moment for him to choose to go out.
“So, I would say go out, have your moment where you relax with your friends, but just your timing’s got to be right.”
