Marcus Rashford looks set to leave Manchester United this month

AC Milan are exploring a loan move for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with the Serie A giants ready to cover his full salary in a potential January transfer.

The 27-year-old England international has fallen out of favour under United manager Ruben Amorim, having missed five consecutive Premier League matches.

Sky Sports reports that Milan are holding internal discussions about bringing Rashford to the San Siro, as they seek to bolster their attacking options.

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who now holds an executive role at AC Milan, has endorsed the potential move for his ex-teammate.

The Italian club are prepared to cover Rashford's entire £315,000-a-week wages and will present a formal offer in the coming days, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

The deal is being described as 'complicated' due to the significant wage demands, but Milan have already approached United to discuss transfer possibilities.

Rashford recently told journalist Henry Winter he was "ready for a new challenge," adding that when he leaves United there would be "no hard feelings."

The forward was absent from Sunday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield due to illness, according to Amorim.

His problems with the United manager reportedly began after a night out in Manchester following a 4-0 win over Everton in December, with The Athletic reporting Rashford denied the claims when questioned.

The potential loan move mirrors the recent situation of Jadon Sancho, who departed United for Borussia Dortmund earlier this month.

Milan are keen to strengthen their attacking options, with the club currently struggling for goals in Serie A where they sit eighth in the table.

Current forwards Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic have battled injuries, while Alvaro Morata has managed just five goals this season.

Pulisic remains the club's top scorer with five goals, having recently returned from a muscle tear.

Milan are not the only Italian club interested in Rashford's services, with the forward reportedly being offered to Napoli, Juventus and Inter Milan.

Napoli are exploring a potential swap deal involving Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Despite interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, Rashford has rejected approaches from the Middle East as he aims to continue his career in Europe.

The forward is keen to maintain his international prospects with England by remaining in a top European league.
