The door isn't completely closed on Marcus Rashford's Manchester United career ahead of their seismic showdown with Liverpool today.
That's according to Red Devils icon Lee Sharpe, who has become the latest figure to open up on the England international's future.
Rashford hasn't featured for United since a 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12.
He has been left out of matchday squads for fixtures with Manchester City, Tottenham, Bournemouth and Wolves in the time since - while he was benched for their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on December 30.

With the January transfer window now open, talk of a move away has arisen.
Rashford himself recently gave an interview saying he's open to a 'new challenge' amid links with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs in Saudi Arabia.
Ruben Amorim, however, continues to insist that the 27-year-old could yet stay at United if he proves his worth.
And Sharpe feels that while Rashford was wrong to signal he was open to potentially leaving Old Trafford, there's still an 'olive branch' on the table.

"I think Marcus should have spoke to the manager before speaking to any outside media," he told William Hill.
"Words can get twisted or misinterperated and this isn't good for player or club.
"It’s important to keep things inside the club and dealt with so that Marcus can do what he does best which is perform on the pitch well for Manchester United.
"Amorim has said in response that a Manchester United with Marcus in the team, is a better one, so Marcus has the olive branch if he wants to take it.
"It's up to him now as it will be a massive shame if he leaves like this as his scoring record over the years has been excellent."
Amorim was asked about Rashford potentially featuring in Sunday's clash with Liverpool in his pre-match press conference.
There have been suggestions the winger has impressed in training since being dropped by his 39-year-old manager.
But Amorim insists he hasn't been working at Carrington because Rashford is currently 'ill'.

The former Sporting Lisbon boss, when asked about Rashford, said: "It's the same situation, at the moment he is ill.
“He is not training. We will see in the future but this is like a normal player, then I make a selection. So, it’s the same.
“I think he is going to be out, this week he is out. We will see but I think this week he is out.”

He continued: “I already spoke a lot about Marcus, it depends more on him than on me.
“He has to want it really, really bad. He’s here, he’s in our squad so he’s our player and he’s ready to play if I decide."
United and Liverpool played out a goalless draw in the same fixture at Anfield last term, though the Reds ran out 3-0 winners at Old Trafford back in August.
