The England international could depart Old Trafford, having failed to win round Ruben Amorim

Manchester United have set two conditions when it comes to potentially cutting ties with Marcus Rashford in the January transfer window, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has failed to win round Ruben Amorim ever since the Portuguese replaced Erik ten Hag as manager back in November and hasn't featured since a 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12.

Amorim has continued to insist that Rashford is ill, which is why he isn't available for selection.

But it seems increasingly likely that the England international will be cut loose, with Tottenham, AC Milan and Como among the clubs to show interest.

According to The Times, United have two conditions when it comes to potentially parting ways with Rashford, albeit on loan, this month.

It's claimed they are likely to demand a loan fee for the forward, who bagged 30 goals across all competitions just two seasons ago.

United previously pocketed an initial £3million after they allowed Jadon Sancho to leave for Borussia Dortmund on a temporary basis.

They then secured an extra £3.4m in bonuses after the winger helped the Bundesliga giants reach the Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid.

The report says United also want any potential suitors to cough up the majority of Rashford's staggering £325,000-a-week wages.

He signed a bumper new deal with the fallen giants in 2023, having initially flourished under Ten Hag.

But the goals have dried up in the time since and several clubs may struggle to afford Rashford, despite United's willingness to negotiate.

It emerged on Wednesday that Tottenham, who beat Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie on the same day, are keen on Rashford.

Yet it's currently unclear if United would let a player join a direct rival.

United also have a strained relationship with Tottenham, having failed to sign a single player from the north London giants since Dimitar Berbatov in 2008.

AC Milan are admirers of Rashford but would struggle to afford the forward, despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic endorsing a potential move.

Como, Juventus and Napoli have all been linked as well.

Meanwhile, former United star Wes Brown recently expressed a belief that Amorim should bring Rashford in from the cold.

He said: "I want to see Marcus Rashford stay at Manchester United.

"It’s been a tough time for him but he’s back in the squad and I think with a few changes it could improve.

"Everything he does is so highly publicised, these things happen at all clubs but people care more because he is a local boy and is always in the limelight.

"I think the main thing for Marcus is just to get his head down and regardless of what happens in the future, get back to playing at his best.

"I think United need him in the team and playing well, so hopefully the situation resolves itself."
