The 27-year-old looks set for a return to action

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed Marcus Rashford is available for selection ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old forward was notably absent from United's last two matches, including Thursday night's 4-3 Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham.

Rashford's omission from recent fixtures came after reports emerged about his desire for a new challenge in his career.

Amorim had previously indicated that Rashford's absence was related to his training performances, having missed both the Manchester derby and the Spurs tie.

When asked about Rashford's availability, Amorim was direct in his response: "Yes, of course."

The United boss dismissed suggestions of any disciplinary issues, stating: "No, no it's the same thing guys. It will be the same thing."

Whether Rashford will feature in Sunday's match at Old Trafford remains uncertain, despite being available for selection.

The forward's potential return comes at a crucial time for United, following their exit from the Carabao Cup at the hands of Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Mason Mount is set for another extended period on the sidelines after sustaining a muscle injury during United's match against Manchester City last weekend.

The midfielder lasted less than 15 minutes at the Etihad before being forced off.

Mount has struggled with fitness since his £60million move from Chelsea, featuring in just 33 out of a possible 77 games.

After seeing a specialist on Wednesday, Amorim confirmed the lengthy nature of Mount's absence, saying: "I don't know the exact date but it's going to be for long. That's it, it's part of football and you continue."

Victor Lindelof has also joined the injury list after limping out of the Spurs defeat.

Amorim outlined plans to use Mount's recovery period constructively, focusing on helping him adapt to the new system at United.

"What I can do is to help Mase and teach him how to play our game," said Amorim. "When he's recovering, try to use that time for him to think about different things."

The United manager highlighted the challenges of rehabilitation amid a busy schedule.

"The worst part is we don't have time to train like you should do when you are recovering from a lot of injuries," he explained. "We are always travelling, we have games and trainings."

Amorim expressed his commitment to supporting Mount, stating: "It is really hard for the player to be out for so long and he's trying really hard. If they try really hard we will help them until the end."
