Jadon Sancho has now left Manchester United and re-joined Borussia Dortmund on a short-term loan deal.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has issued a blunt message to Jadon Sancho following the winger's loan move back to Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho has been out in the cold at United ever since his outburst on social media and his refusal to apologise to Ten Hag.

That relationship hasn't improved and led to Sancho being made available to leave the club on a short-term basis in the January transfer window.

Dortmund were quick to show interest in re-signing the winger they sold to United for £73million back in 2021.

And Ten Hag has spoken for the first time since Sancho's departure, issuing a short and snappy message to the England international.

He said: "I hope he's doing well, so I wish him the best of good luck."

Ten Hag refused to add anything else to his initial comments when pushed on his view.

He added: "That's it. I hope he's doing well and he'll be a success. I replied, I think it's enough."

Dortmund will reportedly cover most of Sancho's wages, but there is no option to buy the winger.

The move is seen as a win-win all parties involved as Ten Hag and United get Sancho off their wage bill and out of the club while the 23-year-old gets an opportunity to play competitive football for the first time in months.

It was at Dortmund where Sancho emerged as one of Europe's brightest young talents and created a formidable partnership with Erling Haaland.

And he's already looking forward to his potential second debut, which could come on Saturday against Darmstadt in the Bundesliga.

He said: “When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’.

“I know the club inside and out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge.

“I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.”

Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is happy to be reunited with Sancho after the two worked together before the winger's move to Old Trafford.

However, Terzic has challenged Sancho to make the most of his short time back at Dortmund.

He said: "We're ready to give him the chance to show that he can do it again, that he's far from finished. But I don't have time, he doesn't have time, we don't have time. If he wants to come here and ask for time - it's not possible.

"If we talk about football: Welcome. If we talk about things off the pitch: No chance. If you're ready for that, then I'm ready for us to give you another chance here."
