Graeme Souness has weighed in on the row between Roy Keane and Virgil van Dijk following Liverpool and Manchester United's goalless draw on Sunday.
The match at Anfield was drab, with neither team doing enough to claim all three points.
After the fixture, Van Dijk slammed United and said Liverpool had been the better side.
Keane then proceeded to dub the Netherlands international 'arrogant', saying: "He needs to be reminded of himself; he's playing for a club that’s won one title in 30-odd years.

“He said only one team wanted to win; Manchester United were buzzing with the point.
"Man United is in a difficult place, like Liverpool has been in a difficult place for many a year.
"So maybe that bit of arrogance backfired on him today.”
Souness worked with Keane at Sky.
And he previously managed Liverpool, as well as playing for the Reds during his football career.
Souness has now weighed in on the row between Keane and Van Dijk.
He's unsurprisingly opted to defend the latter, insisting he was right that United had set up to play for a draw.
"He could have been a bit more magnanimous in his choice of words, but he was right, wasn't he?" he told talkSPORT.
"There was only one team trying to win it.
"There was only one team who set out their stall before a ball was kicked, in minute one, they tried to win the game.
"Man United were in survival mode by the way they set out to play, and don't take my word for it, stats tell you that!
"Where I'd be critical of Van Dijk is, get used to it!
"This isn't a new thing for big teams, it would have been the same for Man United when they were the dominant force."
He continued: "His initial words, and maybe he could have been a bit gentler in his choice of words, I think are correct.
"There was only one team that tried to win the game, and this is born out of frustration."
Van Dijk was asked about Keane's criticism of him after the match.
Yet the former Southampton and Celtic star didn't seem too bothered, saying: "I like Roy Keane, if he said that then it's fine.
"He is Man United throughout and I understand he could react like that but I felt what I said and there is absolutely no arrogance that.
"Everyone who watched the game probably felt the same.
"We move on. We had the opportunity and we couldn't score and that's the frustrating part."
