"Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michele, and I are beyond grateful for what this place has meant to our family.

De Bruyne has become one of the poster boys for the Premier League during his decade-long stint in Manchester.

De Bruyne, when he first joined City in 2015, had a point to prove.
He had previously failed to light up the Premier League with Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho infamously cutting him loose.

"His consistency in important games and every three games being there all the time, there is no doubt."
On whether it's the right time for De Bruyne to be going, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss added: "It is more important that he feels good right now.
"Now he feels finally, after surgery on his hamstring, he feels step-by-step ready.
"His decision is made and for all of us, we wish to him, Michele, the kids and his mum and dad absolutely the best."
