Jermaine Jenas' wife 'could make U-turn' after deciding to stand by former footballer following BBC sacking

The 41-year-old was axed by the broadcaster on Thursday
Jermaine Jenas' wife, Ellie Penfold, is standing by the footballer for now following his sacking from the BBC.
However, reports say that the situation 'could change' after it emerged the former footballer had sent unsolicited text messages to two women while working for the broadcaster.
On Thursday, Jenas was ruthlessly axed by the BBC after they had conducted a thorough investigation behind the scenes.
The former Newcastle and Tottenham star, who also played for England, sent inappropriate text messages to two members of staff - with Beeb chiefs then deciding to terminate his contract.

Jenas has fronted up and apologised for his actions, with the ex-BBC man also hiring lawyers as he battles the BBC's decision to sack him.
His wife Ellie, who he married in 2011 and has three children with, is standing by him 'for now'.
Yet the Daily Mail claim those close to Jenas say that 'could change' in the wake of the scandal that has seen him catapulted into the spotlight.
Ellie, by Jenas' own admission, is 'raging'. He told her about the allegations before his BBC dismissal but that, it seems, hasn't made things any easier for the couple.

Jenas said: "We've not really spoken properly since. She's absolutely raging."
Explaining conversations with his wife further, he added: I had to tell her by Monday evening because I knew then that I’d been fired.
“I just said: ‘I’ve been sacked from the BBC.’ She said: ‘What for?’ and I said: ‘For sending text messages that weren’t appropriate to two girls.’
“Ellie is absolutely raging. She’s human. When I see her now, she is just making sure the children are OK.”
Jenas' two eldest children are aged 11 and 16. Jenas says it has been difficult for them, as well as Ellie, and that he feels he's let everyone down.
“They’re obviously of an age where they’re aware of social media... that’s been hard," he said.
"I've let everyone down. Even my dog looked at me disappointed.
“I have been behaving in a certain way that’s just not been acceptable within our marriage.

"Ellie is completely innocent within all this. All she’s doing is at home, working her heart out, looking after my children.
“The overriding factor is just how sorry I am to everybody.”
A friend of Jenas has told the publication that he wants to clear his name.
They also say he feels he 'hasn't done much wrong'.

The insider said: "He keeps doubling down and saying that it’s not fair, he doesn’t accept the situation, and he will fight to clear his name.
"He firmly believes things would have been different if the BBC hadn’t just faced a big scandal, but he insists also that he hasn’t done much wrong.
"He keeps saying there are two sides to the story, but that he’s been advised not to tell anybody the details by his lawyers so that they can prepare a case to send to the BBC."
