The 41-year-old was axed by the BBC last month

Jermaine Jenas won't be working for TNT Sports during the match between Southampton and Manchester United this weekend, reports say.

The 41-year-old was recently axed by the BBC after he sent unsolicited text messages to two female members of staff.

Jenas has fronted up and apologised for his actions, with the former Newcastle, Tottenham and England star full of remorse.

While he's lost his job with the BBC, reports have claimed TNT Sports could provide him with a lifeline in television.

According to The Mirror, however, Jenas will not be on duty this weekend for the match between Southampton and Manchester United at St Mary's Stadium.

The report says, however, that TNT are yet to make a decision when it comes to his long-term future.

The broadcaster was not privy to the same information that the BBC had. Jenas previously provided commentary during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Ipswich on the first weekend of the new Premier League season.

Jenas still has BBC Sport and The One Show in his social media profiles, despite his recent axing.

He is understood to be unhappy at the way the BBC handled the situation, with lawyers currently on the case.

Jenas is reportedly battling to save his marriage to his wife, Ellie Penfold, who he admitted was 'raging' with him.

The former footballer, who scored one goal for England during his playing days, told The Sun that he feels like he's let everybody down.

Jenas also revealed he was 'as low as I've ever been', too.

“I feel ashamed," he said. “I feel I’ve let everybody down.

"Friends, family, colleagues. I'm pretty much as low as I've ever been."

Jenas also offered his apologies to the two women he messaged, while revealing the BBC prohibited him from reaching out to them.

“When it was all unfolding and I knew I was losing my job, I asked HR if I could contact the two women directly and apologise to both of them," he said.

“But because of the legal process, I wasn't allowed. I didn't get the opportunity to say sorry to them at that particular point when I really wanted to apologise.

“I really want to apologise from the bottom of my heart in terms of what I've put them through.”

He continued: “I'm not proud of what I wrote and what I said.

"And I do consider it cheating, yes, although nothing physical ever happened.
