Jermaine Jenas has been sacked by the BBC after allegations of improper conduct.

Arsenal icon Ray Parlour has questioned the purpose of Jermaine Jenas' interview with talkSPORT after the 41-year-old 'passed' on a lot of the questions he faced.

Jenas was sacked from the BBC on Thursday just as he was about to begin presenting on talkSPORT.

He was dismissed from the broadcaster due to alleged issues relating to workplace behaviour.

Jenas was asked about the situation on talkSPORT with the radio channel repeatedly broadcasting the interview.

It was broadcast again during talkSPORT's breakfast show on Friday featuring Parlour and Natalie Sawyer with Jenas repeatedly stating, "I can't talk about that right now".

"I can't really talk," he said.

"I've got to leave it in the hands of the lawyers.

"It's hard. There's definitely two sides."

After the interview finished, Parlour was seen giggling in the studio on their live YouTube broadcast.

Parlour said: "He literally just said pass. Pass, pass, pass, pass.

"I don't know - What was the point of that interview?"

Sawyer then attempted to answer Parlour's query, replying: "It was the duty of talkSPORT to get something out of him."

Parlour interjected and added: "The only people who win out of this is the lawyers I should imagine."

The talkSPORT presenters then quickly moved on from Jenas to their next segment of the show.

TalkSPORT have since confirmed that Jenas will no longer be back on the channel for the time being.

"Given the array of serious allegations being reported as the story continues to evolve, it's for Jermaine as a private individual to address them in the way he chooses," they said.

"There are no plans for Jermaine to broadcast as a presenter on talkSPORT in the immediate future."
