James Maddison has admitted his poor form for Tottenham in the second half of the season was likely behind his omission from England's squad for Euro 2024 this summer.
The Spurs playmaker was informed today that he wouldn't be travelling to Germany for the European Championships, which commence later this month.
Maddison started off the season playing well for Tottenham, having joined from Leicester last summer.
But his form regressed and, now, he's set to watch the Euros from home.

Taking to X, Maddison has admitted he's 'devastated' by his snub.
He felt there was a 'place for him' in the squad, despite his inconsistent form.
But the Tottenham star also admitted that, if he was 'honest', he perhaps didn't deserve to make the cut.
"Devastated doesn’t quite cut it. Trained well and worked hard all week but if I’m honest with myself, my form for Spurs when coming back from injury in the second half of the season probably wasn’t at the levels I had set which gave Gareth a decision to make," he said.
"I still thought there would be a space for me in a 26 man squad as I feel I bring something different & had been a mainstay in this whole qualifying campaign for Euro 2024 in Germany but the manager has made the decision and I have to respect that.

"I’ll be back, I have no doubt.
"Wishing the boys all the luck in the world out in Germany, unbelievable group and lads that I literally call some of my best friends.
"I genuinely hope football comes home."
Fans have since flooded Maddison with messages of support, with one user saying: "We’re all with you, Madders!
"Rest up and it’s time to prove the doubters wrong next season. You’ll be back!"
A second said: "Disappointed for you but you'll be back stronger next season."
A third user opined: "Absolutely gutted for you Madders.
"But enjoy the break and the rest, 100 percent going to be huge things ahead for you and the team next season."
A fourth stated: "Fair play brother. Taking responsibility. We go again next season. Better and stronger than before."
And a fifth said: "We’re all with you Madders, you’ll be back."
As well as Maddison, two Liverpool players have been snubbed.
Jarell Quansah won't be going, with the 21-year-old a surprise pick in the first place.
And Curtis Jones has failed to make the cut, too.
England are set to name their 26-man squad for the European Championships this Saturday.
And Southgate admitted there was plenty of 'spinning plates' after England beat Bosnia 3-0 at St James' Park on Monday night.

"Some players needed the game, they needed the minutes and they need the minutes again on Friday," he said.
"That's why we brought Harry Kane on. He needed some match time today and then to back that up.
"We're spinning a lot of plates trying to get individuals into things, manage minutes, perform well and everything else, but I think it was a good night for us."
