It wasn't just fans on X that hailed Musiala and tipped him for a bright future in the game.

Former England midfielder Izzy Christiansen, speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, said the youngster was 'exceptional to watch'.

"[It was a show of] German efficiency," she said.

"They have shown their weaknesses at the back which could prove to be an issue against a higher ranked opposition.

"Jamal Musiala was exceptional to watch, Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos running the midfield."

And Robert Huth added: "Jamal Musiala was probably our best player in the last World Cup.

"He has pure magic in his feet, how he glides past players opens up the game for us."

He continued: "The home fans give us a massive push, if we had lost the first game it would have been a massive burden - the Scotland game was massive for us.
