The England international has departed Old Trafford after a nightmare three-year stint

Manchester United fans have ripped into Jadon Sancho after the winger joined Chelsea on transfer deadline day.

The England international has left Old Trafford after an underwhelming three-year stint, having struggled for form since moving from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

Earlier on Friday, Erik ten Hag said that he expected Sancho to stay - with the pair recently calling a truce following a breakdown in relations.

But Sancho has now been shown the door, with Chelsea landing the forward on loan with an obligation to buy.

Enzo Maresca's side will then pay £23million, depending on performance-related add-ons, next year to make his move permanent.

United fans have now taken to social media to blast Sancho, while also expressing their delight that he's finally left the club.

"You have no idea how glad I am to see the back of Sancho, what have we actually lost? Nothing," wrote one user.

"You can have all the potential in the world but when you combined that with the attitude of a spoiled brat then you won’t progress at any club. Not our problem anymore, good riddance."

A second said: "The thing about the whole Sancho situation was that we were warned he had a shocking attitude. Money got to his head. Good riddance."

A third said: "Glad to see Sancho go. Good riddance."

A fourth ripped into the 24-year-old by saying: "What an unexpectedly awful signing Sancho turned out to be for United, baffling how that one went so wrong. Chelsea are more than welcome to him."

Another said: "Although not an out and out starter I’m gutted to see Scott McTominay go but good luck to him. On the other hand, delighted we’ve got shot of Sancho. What a truly awful signing he’s been."

And a sixth said: "People being super upset about Sancho leaving makes ZERO sense to me.

"The guy has been terrible for Man United and basically left the club a year ago when he threw his strop. It is what it is at this point I wish him luck at his next club…"

Sancho was actually eyed by Chelsea back in 2021, before his move to United.

Yet he moved to Old Trafford after a long pursuit, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the man who finally got him in the door.

Sancho rocked up at United expecting to be given the No 7 shirt.

But Edinson Cavani refused to give it up, with the Uruguay international then making an exeption following the emotional homecoming of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sancho never really settled at United and, over the past three years, has looked a shadow of the forward he once was.

Chelsea boss Maresca will be hoping to get the England international back on song, despite having a wealth of attacking options at his disposal.
