Tottenham captain Heung-min Son was shocked when he was brought off by Ange Postecoglou but it all made sense in the end as they beat Aston Villa 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.
Villa had taken the lead through Morgan Rogers due to more poor defending from a set-piece by Spurs in the first half
But Son's delicious ball for Brennan Johnson moments after the break saw Tottenham draw level and the momentum had appeared to switch.
However, Spurs coach Postecoglou confused everyone in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he decided to take off his captain for Richarlison.

And that included Son, who stood dumbfounded and pointed to himself when his number came up on the subs screen.
His manager gave him a big hug but it did little to quell the South Korea international's fury, who sat on the bench and let out a huge 'f*** sake'.
The forward has only just returned from injury and Postecoglou, who has been missing his captain for much of the season, would have been desperate not to lose him again.
Nevertheless, it was a brave decision considering the match was still in the balance - though it turned out to be the correct one.
That is because a Dominic Solanke double saw Tottenham complete the comeback and win 4-1 over Unai Emery's men.

The second of the striker's goals came from a fine Richarlison cross, who unfortunately injured himself in the process.
It justified Postecoglou's decision to take Son off, with big games coming up on the horizon.
James Maddison, another second-half sub, wrapped up the result late into the contest with a sumptuous free-kick in the 97th minute.

Having beaten Manchester City in the Carabao Cup midweek, this has given Spurs some much-needed momentum after a stunted start to the season.
It has seen them fly up to seventh in the Premier League, while also taking three points off Villa, who remain fifth.
After a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last Sunday, Postecoglou knew he was coming in for pressure.
