FA Cup fans have fumed after Manchester City were drawn against Plymouth in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night.

Pep Guardiola's side beat Leyton Orient 2-1 on Saturday, with Kevin De Bruyne coming off the bench to score the winner.


As for Plymouth, they made the fifth round themselves with a shock 1-0 win over Liverpool - with Ryan Hardie netting the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

Both sides will now lock horns in the next round of the tournament.

However, fans have fumed on social media after City were given arguably the easiest tie of the lot.

"I KNEW Plymouth would get drawn with Man City.... and absolute fix," alleged one user.

"Naah.. these FA Cup fixtures are rigged. Man City always gets easy draws," said a second.

A third stated: "City getting Plymouth? oh the fa cup is RIGGED."

Another said: "Manchester City again dodged a decent team in fa cup draw #fix #FACup."

And a fifth raged: "Absolute fix these FA Cup Draws. City get a nice easy draw at home."

It must be stressed, however, that there is nothing to substantiate those claims.

Though City, on paper, should beat Plymouth the Championship side's sensational victory over Liverpool on Sunday proves anything can happen.

In the other matches, Preston North End and Burnley will do battle.

Bournemouth vs Wolves will be intriguing given both sides are currently strutting their stuff in the Premier League.

And the winner of Exeter City vs Nottingham Forest will do battle with Ipswich Town.
