The Bayern Munich hitman has spoken out ahead of Tuesday's Euro 2024 showdown

Harry Kane has denied rumours he called a 'players only' meeting ahead of England's Euro 2024 battle against Slovenia on Tuesday.

The Three Lions are yet to truly get going over in Germany, despite picking up four points from a possible six to top their group.

England were flat in a 1-0 win over Serbia, relying on a header from Jude Bellingham to secure victory.

And they have been widely condemned following their dire 1-1 draw against Denmark on Thursday, with Kane seeing his first half goal cancelled out.

Kane has now spoken to the media.

When quizzed on claims he'd led a team meeting, the former Tottenham star insisted that wasn't the case.

“That didn’t happen, not sure where that’s come from," he said.

“We just had a small debrief from the manager after the game and then a family day.

“We had seven hours with the family which I don’t think players were too happy about after a few hours!”

England players are in their own bubble at Euro 2024, with Gareth Southgate keen for every individual to drown out any negative noise from outside.

Kane admits he isn't playing at the peak of his powers after a sluggish start so far.

Yet the Bayern Munich star won't be paying too much attention to negative pundits and is only focused on firing the Three Lions to Euro 2024 glory.

“I try and stay away from it as much as possible but it’s impossible to not see some of the stuff nowadays.

“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and when a major international tournament is on it’s going to be heightened.

“If I’m being honest, am I playing as well as I can? No.

“But I didn't score in group at World Cup in the group stages, so I’m one ahead already now.

“I don’t get too high, or too low, I just go onto the next one.”

Some believe Kane isn't fully fit.

The Bayern star missed the end of his maiden season in Germany after suffering with a back problem.

Kane has been off the pace and was replaced by Ollie Watkins in the closing stages of the draw with Denmark.

The 30-year-old insists he is capable of both starting and starring for England, however, despite his subdued showings so far.

“I spoke before the tournament, preparation was good for me leading up to it," Kane said.

“The first game, I felt as fit as I have all season. I came off in the second game but that's because the manager wanted to freshen up.

“I’m fit. You want to be coming into your peak towards the big games in the knockouts.

“You want to be close to feeling 100 per cent in the knockouts and that's where I think I am.”

And Kane is pleased with the support he's received in Germany after moving to the country last year.

“You have good golf courses here around where we're staying," he said.

“The reception I’ve had in Germany has been incredible. I’ve added a lot of supporters since I joined Bayern Munich."
