The Three Lions are set to change things up for Saturday's Euro 2024 clash

Fans on social media believe Eni Aluko deserves an apology amid claims England are set to play both Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden as No 10s for Saturday night's Euro 2024 showdown with Switzerland.

Aluko is currently working for ITV out in Germany, with the 37-year-old operating as a pundit.

Earlier in the tournament, she was mocked after suggesting England play both Bellingham and Foden as No 10s.

However, widespread reports claim that's exactly what Gareth Southgate is set to do as he looks to mastermind a crucial win over Switzerland.

And fans on X believe Aluko didn't deserve to be mocked for her suggestion, with one user saying: "I think a few 'Twitter experts' owe Eni Aluko an apology."

A second said: "Eni Aluko deserves a big apology."

A third opined: "Eni Aluko is owed a large amount of apologies….. (again!)."

A fourth said: "The apology to Eni Aluko must be as loud as the disrespect."

And a fifth said: "Observe the reactions to this tweet and compare it to when Eni Aluko suggested this about a month ago."

England are set to go with three at the back against Switzerland, too.

Jordan Pickford will start in goal, with the Everton star still undroppable between the sticks.

Ezri Konsa, John Stones and Kyle Walker will make up a back three, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bukayo Saka as wing-backs.

In midfield, England are expected to field Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo - with Bellingham and Foden playing further ahead.

And Harry Kane is expected to start up top after heading home the winner against Slovakia last time out.

England have been inconsistent at Euro 2024 so far.

They won 1-0 against Serbia in their opening match on June 16, with Bellingham scoring the only goal of the game.

England then followed that up with draws against Denmark and Slovenia.

And they relied on Bellingham and Kane to see them edge past Slovakia during Sunday's thriller in Gelsenkirchen.

Foden, meanwhile, admitted earlier this week he had been a 'little bit frustrated' at Euro 2024 so far - but is eager to fire England through to the semi-finals of the competition.

“I don't know for the others you have mentioned but I have been a little frustrated," he said.

"I am not going to lie. I want to try and score, do better things for England and like I said it has not worked out but it is about keeping a good mentality.

“I have not been the best player in the Premier League to come here and not show it.

"I feel like every game I am moving forward and hopefully I can put on some good performances and that has always been my aim for England.

“I think I have shown this season for City that I have moved more centrally and the goals have gone up and I have influenced more games so, I have always said I have been honest about my position and I have always seen myself as playing midfield.

“I feel like even though I have started on the left, I have drifted into those positions.

"It is more how we have been on the ball and not been able to find me because of the way the games have been.”
