England next manager: Sarina Wiegman's role in hunt revealed following Gareth Southgate exit

The Three Lions are looking for somebody to replace the 53-year-old following his recent resignation
The FA are reportedly using the success of Sarina Wiegman as a precedent as they consider appointing a foreign manager following Gareth Southgate's recent departure as England boss.
Southgate opted to quit following his side's 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final of Euro 2024, having been in charge ever since 2016.
The FA are currently considering their options, with a host of managers linked.
Reports on Thursday have claimed Mauricio Pochettino is now the leading candidate to take over, despite constant links to Eddie Howe and Graham Potter.

And the Guardian say that, while Wiegman isn't being considered, her impressive work with England's Lionesses is being cited as a 'good precedent for considering a foreign manager'.
England have gone for overseas bosses twice over the years.
They appointed Sven Goran-Eriksson in 2000, with the Swede proceeding to steer the Three Lions to quarter-finals of major tournaments in 2002, 2004 and 2006.
He ultimately left after England lost to Portugal at the World Cup in Germany 18 years ago, with the Three Lions crashing out on penalties following a goalless draw,

England hired Fabio Capello as a replacement for Steve McLaren in 2008.
That appointment initially seemed to be a good one, with Capello ensuring the Three Lions win nine out of their 10 qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup.
After England crashed out of that competition in the round of 16 with just one win from four matches, however, the writing was on the wall.
And Capello left in bitter circumstances in 2012 after clashing with the FA following their decision to strip John Terry of the captaincy.
Pochettino, as things stand, seems the best-placed foreign boss to take charge.
The Argentine has plenty of credit in the bank over at the FA, having done well during stints with Southampton, Tottenham and Chelsea over the years.
Thomas Tuchel has also been linked, with the German currently on the market following his departure from Bayern Munich earlier this summer.
And so too has Joachim Low, who previously steered Germany to World Cup glory in 2014.
