Instead of being placed centrally as normal, the numbers appeared underneath the Nike logo on the left side.
Frost acknowledged the mistake on social media after fans questioned the change from the previous positioning seen during the Euros.
One fan took to social media questioning: "The football shirt nerd in me realised a slight difference to England's shirt. Why have the numbers moved from the Euros?"
This prompted Frost to respond directly to the query.

"You don't legally have to have numbers on the front of the shirts as it happens, but they will be in the centre on Monday," he explained.
The traditional layout features the numbers in the middle, with Nike's swoosh and the England badge positioned on either side.
Frost admitted the error occurred during the initial printing process, which then had to be consistently applied to all shirts.

"Printed the first shirt and put them in wrong place so then had to do them in all in same place," he explained.

He also revealed that using squad numbers benefits the kit department operationally.
"Squad numbers are better for the kit department as we can print shirts in advance it's not our call though," Frost said.
Meanwhile, new England manager Tuchel has made his position clear on player rotation.

"I don't think we have to break our heads about this. We have a qualifier to play, we do what's good for us," Tuchel said.
He referenced Arsenal's use of Declan Rice after a 7-1 first leg victory as evidence clubs prioritise their own interests.
The former Bayern Munich, Chelsea, PSG and Borussia Dortmund boss also emphasised player welfare remains important to him.
"We take care about the schedule. But it would be the wrong signal to tell players: 'Hey, you have tough matches coming up so I rest you now,'" he added.
