England fans spoke to Jeff Moody

England fans have been making their feelings clear about the team’s showing so far at this year’s European Championships.

A group of them spoke to GB News’s South West reporter Jeff Moody in Bristol to preview tonight’s showdown with Slovakia in the round of 16.

While England have been able to progress to the knockout rounds, they have failed to impress so far.

The Three Lions picked up a 1-0 victory against Serbia to kick off their tournament, but draws against Denmark and Slovenia have followed.

“It’s been abominable”, one furious England fan told Jeff.

“Absolutely atrocious. They haven’t played so far. They have just gone out there and done what they have needed to do.

“It could be worse, but I have definitely seen them play better. I just hope they can win something tonight and play a better game.”

Jeff asked another England fan for their thoughts, and they called for Gareth Southgate to make some radical changes to his team.

“I think England will win 2-0”, he said.

“I think he needs to make some changes because it clearly hasn’t worked.

“I think he will be bringing in players like Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo to spark some new life into the team, hopefully.”

Plastic cups were launched at Gareth Southgate by furious England fans after their lacklustre 0-0 draw against Slovenia to close out the group stage last week.

But the England boss has been keen to stress that he is undeterred by background negativity and remains in a positive frame of mind going into the knockout stage of the competition.

“Absolutely (enjoying the challenge), it’s a brilliant challenge,” Southgate said, as reported by England Football.

“We’ve had different problems to solve as a team over the last few weeks and I’m the leader trying to connect all of that and keep the juggernaut that is the England football team on the right path. That’s how I’m viewing up.

“Every day I wake up and think what we need to do, the conversations that need to happen, the areas of the game we need to focus on. It’s the ultimate challenge.”
