England newbie Dan Burn has revealed he apologised to Thomas Tuchel after he replied to a text message late at night as the duo prepare for Friday night's World Cup qualifying match with Albania.
The Newcastle star has made the squad for the first time, just days after scoring in his side's 2-1 Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool.
Burn, speaking on Wednesday, revealed that Tuchel informed him beforehand that he was under consideration.
But he also explained that he apologised to the new England manager for replying to a text message late at night, though all seems well between them.

"The manager FaceTimed us on Tuesday and said that they were debating calling us [me] up, and would let us know on Thursday," said the 32-year-old.
"Then it got to six o’clock on Thursday night.
"[I had] not heard anything so I said to my wife: 'Nothing’s going to happen'.
"I got a text saying: ‘Are you still awake?' at 10. I was like: 'Yes', straight away. First of all, he said I was very unprofessional for not being in bed for 10 o’clock, so I apologised for that.
"He just said he needed to end the day on a good note, that he wanted us to be in the squad, just what he felt my strengths were, which I explained when I spoke to him."
Burn was in good spirits after inspiring Newcastle to Carabao Cup glory.
He has established himself as a Toon legend with his goal, with Alexander Isak also on target as they upset Arne Slot's Liverpool.
Burn will become the oldest England debutant since Kevin Davies is he plays against Albania on Friday night.

When asked about how he's celebrated Newcastle's win, the former Brighton star added: "It was strange.
"As soon as I left the stadium my focus completely switched to this.
"I had my family here and the kids and we ended up getting on the bus about 12 o'clock back to the hotel.
"It was getting a bit rowdy and I was just ready to go to sleep!

"I know the club's put stuff out about there being a parade [a week] on Saturday, so I think that's when I'll celebrate, but I've waited a long time for this opportunity and didn't want to spoil it."
Tuchel, meanwhile, is preparing to take charge of England for the first time.
One controversial decision he's already made is handing a recall to Jordan Henderson at the age of 34.
But Tuchel has explained picking the Ajax midfielder, with the former Bayern Munich boss saying: "He embodies everything. He is a serial winner, his personality and character.
