The forward came off the bench during Tuesday night's goalless draw with Slovenia

Anthony Gordon has shown off a cut on his face after the England star was involved in a bike accident ahead of Sunday night's Euro 2024 showdown with Slovakia.

The Newcastle winger came off the bench on Tuesday night in the Three Lions' goalless draw with Slovenia.

Gordon was unable to score but did pose a threat and created a late chance for Cole Palmer, who could only shoot straight at goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

The former Everton star is pushing to start Sunday's crunch round of 16 clash in Germany.

Yet Gordon was involved in a bike accident on Wednesday, with the winger showing off his wounds in training today.

The 23-year-old, who scored 11 Premier League goals last season, sustained a cut to his chin.

Gordon doesn't appear to be too fazed by his accident, however, with the winger still put through his paces by manager Gareth Southgate.

His Newcastle team-mate Kieran Trippier trained away from the main group, however.

The England veteran is working on an 'individual programme', according to the FA, with Arsenal's Declan Rice doing the same.

Another player who was absent from the session was Phil Foden.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that the England star, who has started all three matches at Euro 2024 so far, was temporarily jetting back to the UK.

Foden is set to become a father for the third time, with the Manchester City forward already sharing two children with childhood sweetheart Rebecca Cooke.

Son Ronnie was born in 2019, with the youngster named after Foden's late grandfather.

And the couple welcomed daughter True back in 2021.

Regarding Gordon, the England star was frustrated after the goalless draw with Slovenia earlier in the week.

He says he believes everyone can play better and can't understand why they're yet to truly get going at Euro 2024.

"We can do so much better, that's the problem, we've got such good players," he said.

"Training is so good every day, we do everything right and it's just not clicking.

"Hopefully in the coming days it will, because we need to really start attacking teams."

Gordon was, however, pleased with the way he performed after coming off the bench.

"It's frustrating because I want to play," he said. "I think every player here does.

"It's difficult because you've got so many good players.

"But watching from the sideline at any game, at any level, is hard.

"You just want to come on the pitch because you feel you can make an impact.

"I felt I did when I came on. I tried to get at people and be direct and cause problems in the few minutes I got.

"And I'll always try and do that."
