David Moyes has made an emotional return to Everton as manager, securing a £12.5 million contract plus bonuses after the sacking of Sean Dyche.
The Scot was identified as the primary target by the club's new owners, The Friedkin Group, following Dyche's dismissal on Thursday.
Moyes insisted on a long-term appointment rather than an emergency role during negotiations with the club, according to The Sun.
The former Manchester United manager believes he can save the club this season and build for future success.

Moyes previously spent 11 years at Goodison Park before departing for Manchester United in 2013.
During his first spell with the Toffees, he led the club to significant achievements, including a fourth-place Premier League finish in 2005.
He also guided Everton to the FA Cup final in 2009.

His recent success includes winning the Conference League trophy with West Ham, where he worked wonders prior to leaving back in the summer.
His return has divided opinion among the fanbase, despite his excellent previous record at the club, but Moyes doesn't seem too concerned.
Speaking about his return, the 61-year-old said: "It's great to be back! I enjoyed 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and didn't hesitate when I was offered the opportunity to rejoin this great club."

"I'm excited to be working with The Friedkin Group and I am looking forward to helping them rebuild the club," he added.
He called for support from fans, stating: "Now we need Goodison and all Evertonians to play their part in getting behind the players in this important season so we can move into our fabulous new stadium as a Premier League team."
Everton currently sit 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone with a game in hand.

Moyes faces an immediate challenge with a tough run of upcoming fixtures.
The Toffees are set to face Aston Villa on Wednesday.
This will be followed by a home clash against Tottenham the following Sunday.

Moyes is set to quickly assemble his coaching staff at Goodison Park.
Billy McKinlay and veteran Alan Irvine are expected to join from his previous backroom teams.
Former West Ham colleague Kevin Nolan, currently managing Northampton, could also be part of Moyes' plans.
The club has indicated that official announcements regarding his coaching staff appointments will be made in "due course".
