West Ham star Tomas Soucek appeared to pull the boy away to safety.

A Crystal Palace ball boy had to be pulled away after West Ham fans pushed over an advertising board that came close to a fatal incident.

Palace and West Ham were locked in a close encounter at Selhurst Park when Tomas Soucek broke the deadlock in the 67th minute.

The midfielder rushed over to the away supporters to celebrate with the fans pushing forward to join in the celebrations.

The fans then crashed onto the pitch as they ended up pushing over one of the advertising boards with a ball boy nearly caught underneath the pile.
