Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear he's delighted after Portugal's 3-0 win over Turkey, despite five pitch invaders getting to the forward on Saturday.

The Al-Nassr star remains one of the biggest attractions at the tournament, with the veteran still going strong at the age of 39.

Ronaldo is revered by millions of supporters around the world - and that was especially apparent on Saturday during the match at the Westfalenstadion.

Five pitch invaders were able to get to the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.

He looked increasingly disgruntled at their actions as the match went on, with Ronaldo yet to score at the European Championships.

But the incidents didn't seem to bother the football icon too much, with Ronaldo taking to Instagram after the game to express his delight with the result.

"In a hurry and first place guaranteed," he wrote.

"Proud of this team, we are Portugal!"

Portugal were impressive during their win, with Roberto Martinez's side qualifying for the last 16 after picking up all three points.

Bernardo Silva put Portugal ahead in the 21st minute, with the Manchester City star smashing home from close range.

Samet Akaydin scored a horrendous own goal to double Portugal's advantage, with the Turkey star involved in a mix-up with goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

And Bruno Fernandes netted Portugal's third and final goal of the game in the 56th minute, with the United star starting to find his mojo.

Regarding the pitch invaders, meanwhile, Martinez has called on UEFA to act in order to protect Ronaldo.

The former Everton and Wigan boss feels it is a 'concern' that individuals are able to get to his star man before stewards can take action.

"It’s a concern because today we were lucky that the intentions of the fans were good," he said.

"I think we all love a fan that recognises that big star and the big icons … but you can understand that there is a very, very difficult moment if those intentions are wrong."

And Martinez was pleased to see Ronaldo providing the assist for Fernandes' goal, adding: "Cristiano Ronaldo passing the ball to Bruno Fernandes for the final goal was amazing."

As for Fernandes, the United star was delighted with the result - and believes Ronaldo is still contributing, despite his failure to score at the competition so far.

"The goal for me, for Cristiano, and for everyone, is to win matches, not to score goals," he said.

"Our goal is to win. The most important thing is to win every game.

"We want to beat Georgia so we can be in good shape. Playing for Portugal means winning every game.

"Obviously everyone loves and wants to score goals, but that is not the most important thing, and that is reflected in my goal, because Cris is our best goalscorer and in the moment of opportunity to score he gives the ball to the side, and that shows the meaning that this has for us, which is to win games not scoring goals."
