A young boy, as well as four others, got to the Euro 2024 star on Saturday

A 10-year-old boy who invaded the pitch to see Cristiano Ronaldo during Portugal's Euro 2024 win over Turkey has reportedly been let off with a warning.

Roberto Martinez's side won 3-0 on Saturday to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition, with Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes scoring either side of a Samet Akaydin own goal.

However, the match was marred by fans getting to Ronaldo on the pitch.

A 10-year-old boy, as well as four other fans, approached the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star at numerous stages of the game.

Ronaldo was warm towards the young boy, obliging his request for a selfie.

Yet the 39-year-old, who plays his club football for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, grew increasingly frustrated at the match went on.

One steward even clattered striker Goncalo Ramos in an attempt to stop a fan from approaching Ronaldo.

However, the father of the 10-year-old boy that got onto the pitch has claimed his son was just left off with a warning - with his child previously telling him he was going to the toilet.

"UEFA turned a blind eye because he's so small," he told BILD.

The youngster also told the newspaper that he'd 'made his dream come true'.

“I just made my dream come true,” he said. “Now I have a photo with Cristiano Ronaldo.

"It’s going on a T-shirt and up in my room."

Portugal boss Roberto Martinez, however, is concerned about the fans approaching Ronaldo and believes more must be done to stop it from happening.

“It is a concern because today we were lucky that the intentions of the fans were good,” said the former Everton, Wigan and Belgium boss.

“We all love a fan who recognises the big stars and the big icons in their life. We all agree with that.

"But there is a very, very difficult moment if those intentions are wrong – the players are exposed and we need to be careful with that.”

Ronaldo is yet to score at Euro 2024, but is playing in a record sixth European Championships this summer.

His first was 20 years ago, with Portugal getting to the final of Euro 2004 before losing to Greece.
