Wayne Rooney's tattoo did not go down well with wife Coleen

Coleen Rooney has revealed her embarrassment over a tattoo her husband Wayne got of her name without her knowledge before they were married.

Speaking on the Stick To Football show, brought to you by Sky Bet, the 38-year-old shared how Wayne's surprise tattoo left her feeling "ashamed" when he unveiled it at a friend's 18th birthday party.

The revelation came during her latest media appearance, following her recent stint on ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! where she finished as runner-up to Danny Jones.

The incident occurred when Wayne's cousin called Coleen to check the spelling of her name, asking if it had one or two L's.

"I said one L and asked why, and he said he was in the town with Wayne who was getting a tattoo!" Coleen recalled on the show.

The surprise was revealed when Wayne arrived at the party, making quite an entrance.

"He walks into the party with his top off, showing everyone – I felt ashamed," she said.

Wayne defended his decision with confidence in their future together, telling her "it was fine because we were going to be together forever."

The couple's relationship spans back to their secondary school days, with Wayne and Coleen getting engaged in 2003 when she was 17.

Their enduring partnership has now reached 16 years of marriage.

The pair have built a family together, with four sons, including their eldest, 15-year-old Kai, who is currently following in his father's footsteps at Manchester United.

During her appearance on Stick To Football, Coleen also opened up about the challenges her son Kai faces as Wayne Rooney's child.

She recounted a specific incident at St George's Park during a tournament where Kai missed a crucial penalty.

"It went to penalties, Kai stepped up and just skied it," she explained.

The reason behind the miss became clear when Kai told his mother about the goalkeeper's taunts about his father.

"The goalkeeper was saying: 'Your dad's s**t', and he got dead angry," Coleen revealed.

Despite such incidents, Coleen noted her son's resilience, saying: "He's strong-minded though and usually shrugs it off."
