Supporters have hit out at the TV channels after the ties were confirmed

The BBC and ITV have again received criticism from football fans after the TV picks for the fourth round of the FA Cup were revealed.

Manchester United and Liverpool will be among the big teams on show later this month but many fans have been left angered.

Matches in the fourth round will take place between Friday January 26 and Sunday January 28.

The first live game of the weekend will be the mouth-watering clash between Tottenham and Manchester City, which will be shown on ITV on the Friday.

Chelsea will also play host to Aston Villa on the Friday night but the game will not be broadcast in the UK.

The two remaining non-league teams in the competition will be shown, with sixth-tier Maidstone United travelling to play Ipswich on BBC One at 12.30pm on Saturday 27.

If National League side Eastleigh get past Newport County in their replay next week, their match at home to Man United will be the final game of the weekend, also on BBC One.

An all-Premier League affair between Fulham and Newcastle will be on ITV 4 at 7pm on the Saturday.

West Brom will play either Brentford or Wolves on Sunday 28 at an early kick-off time of 11.45am, with Liverpool's home tie against Norwich or Bristol Rovers on at 2.30pm, with both games on ITV.

Some fans were pleased to see both Maidstone and Eastleigh selected but others have been left angry with the other selections on social media.

Many criticised the selection of Fulham vs Newcastle, with some believing Chelsea's home tie against Villa should have been selected instead.

One fan wrote on X: "Who wants to watch Fulham vs Newcastle instead of Chelsea vs Villa?!"

Another posted: "brilliant guys. I was desperate to watch Fulham vs Newcastle."

Another added: "Fulham v Newcastle? That's desperate."

One fan put: "Not showing chelsea vs Villa is mad" while another said: "No Chelsea Villa is comical."

A Newcastle fan wasn't pleased to see his team picked, writing: "Why are we on over Chelsea villa."

While another user wrote: "So you always pick prem games but now you won’t pick chelsea Villa? Brilliant."

Newcastle fans have also fumed at the timing of their match in west London.

One wrote: "Newcastle fans having to travel to London for a 7pm Saturday night kick off??? Taking the p**s that like."

Another posted "Why do you always, always put the Newcastle games in London at a time when there are no trains back? It’s pathetic."

Fans were also not pleased to see that Liverpool's game against a lower-league side was selected for TV coverage.

One wrote: "Jesus @ITV picking Liverpool at home to lower league opposition is a dreary choice."

"Liverpool at Home isn't a TV game," said another.

Some fans were not happy with any of the selections from either the BBC or ITV.

One user wrote: "Disgraceful."

One more put: "What a joke,” while another said: “Hahahha what”.

Some directly called out the TV channels for their picks.

One fan put: "Further proof that ITV are only interested in viewing figures and not the 'magic' of the FA Cup."

While another wrote: "I support a prem team, but having only one fixture without a Prem team involved is a joke.

"The magic of these competitions is the lower leagues being involved too, give them more of the tv rights/money ffs."
