Arsenal fans have vented their fury at Raheem Sterling's flat performance as the Gunners beat Leicester 2-0 in Saturday's Premier League clash at the King Power Stadium.

With the Gunners plagued by injuries, the England international was given a rare chance to impress from the start.

Sterling has failed to make much of an impact in an Arsenal shirt, ever since joining on loan from Chelsea back in the summer.

And it was a similar story on Saturday, with the veteran cutting a flat figure on the wing before being replaced by Mikel Merino - who ended up scoring both of his side's goals.

Sterling, on his day, can be an asset.

But with Arsenal needing big players to step up on a tough day, the forward couldn't complete the full 90 minutes - with Merino coming off the bench to make his mark with a brace.

And a section of Gunners supporters have now taken to social media to suggest that Sterling should never play for the club again, with hopes that he'll be a hit starting to fade.

"I don’t ever want to see Raheem Sterling put on an Arsenal shirt again. Disgusting performance. I’ve played with players better than him who deserved to have made it pro.. genuinely," were the words of one user.

A second said: "Just pay Sterling up and send him back… never seen a player this bad."

Another fumed: "Might be the last time I want to see Sterling wear Arsenal kit again. An absolutely putrid performance today."

A fifth fumed: "I think it's done for Sterling unfortunately. He is terrible."

And a sixth opined: "Raheem Sterling should never play for Arsenal again. He just isn’t good enough."

Arsenal had gone into the showdown hoping to put more pressure on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

The Reds dropped points in midweek, with Everton holding them to a dramatic 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

And though Arsenal looked toothless in attack, Merino's timely brace has given them all three points and boosted their chances of becoming champions come May.
