The Gunners legend has opened up following last night's triumph

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has hailed six players after the Gunners stunned Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The north London giants won 3-0, with Declan Rice bagging a superb brace via two free-kicks and Mikel Merino also on target.

It was a sensational performance from Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta's side outplaying the defending champions on the night.

Should they keep Los Blancos at bay in the return leg next week, they'll compete in their first Champions League semi-final since the 2008/09 season.

Parlour was blown away by what he saw from his former side.

And the Arsenal icon has lavished praise on Rice, Merino, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jakub Kiwior, Bukayo Saka and David Raya for their sublime performances.

"What an unbelievable night at Emirates Stadium," he told NetBet Sports Betting.

"The two free kicks by Declan were world class and Arsenal thoroughly the victory.

"This was a huge night for Arsenal. A massive statement win and outstanding performances all over the pitch. Hugely impressed with Myles Lewis-Skelly, Kiwior did well and Saka being back from the start is brilliant.

"He was fouled for both free kicks and caused Madrid problems all night.

"Merino worked so hard and his goal was excellent. But Declan Rice was outstanding from the start, unlucky with his header and those free-kicks will live long in the memory for himself and everyone who was at the stadium last night.

"Mention to Raya, whose handling was excellent and a crucial save from Mbappe at 0-0."

While Arsenal won at the Emirates, facing Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu will be a different challenge entirely.

Carlo Ancelotti's men have pulled off some remarkable comebacks in the past, with few ruling out a repeat next Wednesday.

But Parlour thinks Arsenal are capable of holding firm and progressing to the last four.

"Arsenal must look to go with a similar game plan and look to get on the ball and be creative to cause Madrid problems down the flanks and then if they can get the first goal, it makes it very difficult for Madrid," he said when asked about the second leg.

"They will be scared of Saka and also the pace of [Gabriel] Martinelli can cause them problems too.

"Defensively, it’s all about concentration and there is no reason why Arsenal can’t defend well in Madrid and stop their main threat of Kylian Mbappe, and watching the late runs into the box from Jude Bellingham.

"They are very much still in the tie as it’s Real Madrid and we know their love of this competition, so they will be looking to get a goal quickly.

"But with Rice and Partey in that midfield, Arsenal can be resolute and show real grit and courage to get on the ball and play."
