The Gunners could soon welcome three players back from injury

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta have received three welcome boosts following his side's disastrous run of form.

The Gunners are currently in Dubai on warm weather training before returning to Premier League action on January 20.

Arsenal are winless in their last four matches in all competitions, including Sunday's FA Cup exit against Liverpool.

Three matches without a win in the Premier League have put a big dent in their hopes of a first title in 20 years.

The north London side sit fourth in the table, just a point clear of rivals Tottenham in fifth.

They have faced increased calls to sign a striker this month to help aid their struggles up front.

They are the lowest scorers of any team in the Premier League top six this season but may not have the budget to strengthen that area of the pitch in this window.

Arteta may have to settle with what he has got and therefore will be hoping to get as many players back from injury as possible.

And pictures from their training session in Dubai appear to be good news for the Spanish coach, with three players edging closer to a return to fitness.

Arsenal fans will be delighted to see Jurrien Timber with the ball at his feet.

The Dutchman, who only joined from Ajax last summer, has been out since the opening day of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate knee ligament.

Arteta said last week that it will still be a long time before Timber is back fit to play.

However, latest images from training suggest his recovery is well on course.

Timber was seen out on the pitches, albeit away from the rest of the squad as he cannot participate in contact training just yet.

He will be a welcome addition to the squad once he is back fit.

The early signs in pre-season were that the Netherlands star would be a top addition, with the versatility to play across the backline.

Arsenal are short of options in defence and would love Timber back as soon as he is ready.

The presence of Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira in training are another couple of boosts for Arteta.

Jesus missed the defeat to Liverpool, with concerns over a knee injury.

Reports suggested it wasn't a serious problem but fans were worried due to the Brazilian's history with knee issues.

He missed three months of action last season with a ligament injury and sat out of the first few weeks of this term due to a minor problem in the same area.

So seeing Jesus in training so soon will raise hopes that he will be fit for the match against Crystal Palace a week on Saturday.

The 26-year-old has scored just three Premier League goals so far this season.

However, Arsenal cannot afford to be without him for the second half of the season.

Vieira's return will also please Arteta as he provides another creative option from midfield.

The Portuguese ace has not played since undergoing groin surgery last November.

He has made just two starts in the Premier League this season.

But he had shown glimpses of promise in the opening weeks of the campaign following a difficult first year in England.
