Arsenal fans have blasted Mikel Arteta's decision to initially have Ethan Nwaneri on the bench during their 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.

And though Arteta did eventually throw on Nwaneri, many fans were unhappy that it took so long.
"I still don't understand why Mikel Arteta doesn't start Ethan Nwaneri," fumed one user.
A second raged: "Arteta needs to understand that Thomas Partey isn't a right back. He needs to understand that Trossard does absolutely nothing better than Ethan Nwaneri on the bench."
Another said: "Arteta is too stubborn. No creative player on the pitch while you have Ethan Nwaneri on the bench."

A fourth hit out at Arteta by saying: "What did Arteta give as the reason for not playing Nwaneri?"
And a fifth said: "We’ve been so much better since Nwaneri came on, but Arteta will see this and still start Trossard over him next game."
Arsenal are currently five points behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
But that lead will likely be extended if City get the better of Bournemouth later today (3pm).

Arsenal have made significant progress under Arteta during his time in charge.
Yet today's nightmare result means they face an uphill task as they look to win a first league crown in over two decades.
Arsenal were slow out of the blocks and fell behind early on, with Isak heading home following a pinpoint cross from Anthony Gordon.
David Raya was forced to make a save to deny Isak from doubling their lead in the second half.
