Alex Scott has made it clear how important representation is in women's football after stinging criticism from Joey Barton.
Barton recently went on a tirade, insisting female presenters and pundits shouldn't be covering the men's game.
He also singled out Scott for criticism, insisting she was average as a player.
Barton has faced a backlash for his comments, with many figures around the footballing world condemning the former Manchester City, Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers star.

Now, Scott has taken to Instagram to hammer home the importance of representation in football.
Sending a clear message, the former Arsenal star said: "It's important for representation to reflect society.
"It's crucial that young girls and boys can switch on their TVs and open magazines and see themselves represented.
"The impact that will have on future generations can never be overstated.
"The talent of the future will be exceptional if we continue to recognise how important representation it."
While Scott has been dubbed 'average' by Barton, her career achievements speak for themselves.
She won eight titles, three WSL Cups and seven FA Cups.
And Scott also won the Champions League once and two Community Shields before retiring from football in 2017.
As for Barton, the controversial 41-year-old won the Championship with Newcastle in 2010 - before claiming the same trophy with Burnley six years later.
He was also part of the QPR side that won the Championship play-offs during the 2013/2014 season.
Barton was in attendance as Brighton beat Marseille at the Amex Stadium on Thursday night.
Joao Pedro netted the only goal of the game to ensure the Seagulls finish top of their Europa League group.
And Barton has taken to social media to react to the result.
"Just heading home from OM game. Not the result we wanted," said the midfielder, who once had a brief loan spell with the French club.
"Cannot thank @Winners1987 enough for looking after us.
"Cassius leading the Ultras songs from down the front. Some club. @OM_Officiel
"See you all in the Velodrome soon. Forza OM."
Meanwhile, Scott isn't the only person Barton has targeted over the past few weeks.
He slammed presenter Steven Howson on X earlier in the week, labelling the Manchester United YouTuber 'fat'.
