Alan Shearer has shared a comical tale about his daughter's boyfriend's travel disaster before the London Marathon.
The Newcastle legend recounted the story on the Rest Is Football Podcast, leaving co-hosts Gary Lineker and Micah Richards in fits of laughter.
Shearer's son Will ran the marathon yesterday, with family members gathering to support him.
Among those attempting to attend was Micky Young, boyfriend of Shearer's eldest daughter Chloe, whose journey to London took an unexpected turn.

Young had been watching Newcastle defeat Ipswich 3-0 on Saturday before his journey south.
He arrived at the station five minutes early for his 17:59 train.
However, after boarding, Young was shocked to hear an announcement welcoming passengers heading to Edinburgh.
To his horror, he discovered he was on a non-stop service to Scotland rather than London.

The former rugby player frantically explored various transport options including flights and cars to rectify his mistake.
Eventually, Young settled on an unconventional solution, as Shearer explained on the podcast.
"But he got on the f***ing Mega Bus. The 10pm Mega Bus, which cost him £30 from Edinburgh to London," Shearer revealed.
"He got in at 6:45am this morning to London."

Shearer couldn't resist teasing Young about the mishap.
"I said to him, 'and you are meant to be looking after my f***ing daughter in the future'."
"It stopped at Dunbar, Leeds and Sheffield. Oh you idiot."
Despite the travel chaos, Young made it just in time to support Will Shearer, who completed the London Marathon in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.

Will was running to raise funds for the Alan Shearer Foundation.
The proud father took to Instagram afterwards to celebrate his son's achievement.
"Time for a well earned beer @willshearer9 you smashed it. Proud of you running for the @alanshearerfoundation. Thank you," Shearer posted.
The family gathered to cheer on Will, with his dad, mum Lainya and sisters Chloe and Hollie all in attendance.

Micky Young, who found himself on the unexpected Edinburgh detour, is a retired scrum half.
He previously played for the Newcastle Falcons in Shearer's home city.
Young's career also saw him represent other prominent clubs including Leicester Tigers and Bath.
The 31-year-old Chloe Shearer is in a relationship with Young, making him part of the extended Shearer family.
