There was close to £1billion worth of talent on the field to start the game between Chelsea and Manchester City on Saturday evening.
Chelsea's midfield unit of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo cost a combined figure of £220million.
The spending under Todd Boehly over the past two years has been record-breaking but City have also used their financial muscle since Sheikh Mansour took over the club in 2008 to build their super squad.
The likes of Ruben Dias, Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku didn't come cheap.

It was a different story for Nicolas Jackson, who has endured a difficult first season at Stamford Bridge.
The striker struggled to create an opportunity of his own, but he was pivotal to Chelsea opening the scoring in the first half.
His neat turn past two City players set him on his way before delivering a perfect pass to Raheem Sterling, who duly slotted past Ederson for the game's opening goal.
It was all on City from there on to find a way back into the game with De Bruyne pulling the strings in midfield to try and create something for his forwards.
But Pep Guardiola's side were costly in front of goal until Rodri popped up with a prodded effort from inside the box to give City their equaliser.
