Adrian Newey has reportedly made it clear to Red Bull that he wants to leave before the end of his current contract.

Red Bull have released a statement responding to reports claiming Adrian Newey wants to leave the team before the end of his contract.

It's been a comfortable time on the track for Red Bull once again this season with Max Verstappen winning four of the first five races.

But it's been a different story off the track with allegations against Christian Horner thrusting the team principal's private life into the limelight.

There's also been reports about an ongoing power struggle behind the scenes between Austria-based Red Bull Gmbh and shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya.

The team have now been rocked by fresh reports that Newey wants to end his 19-year stay with the team amid the ongoing controversy.

It's been reported that the Red Bull chief technical officer has been 'unsettled' since the allegations against Horner were made.

But Red Bull have issued a defiant response indicating they won't let the legendary F1 car designer leave without a fight.

Their statement read: "Adrian is contracted until at least the end of 2025 and we are unaware of him joining any other team."

Red Bull's comment indicates they are ready to block any bids from rival teams trying to snap him up.

Ferrari and Aston Martin have both been linked with wanting to bring Newey on board.

The iconic Italian F1 team are pushing to end their long title drought and showed their intent earlier this year by agreeing a multi-year deal to steal Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes.

He turned down the chance to work with Ferrari earlier in his career and revealed he regretted missing out on a chance to work with some of F1's best drivers.
