Corinna Schumacher has launched an appeal against what she calls a "far too lenient" sentence given to her family's former bodyguard in a blackmail case.
Concerns have also arisen over a "missing hard drive" and over potential copycats, who might be emboldened by the sentences handed out.
In a statement released on Monday, Corinna Schumacher explained her decision to appeal Fritsche's sentence.
"We have appealed against what we consider to be the far too lenient sentence for Mr F," she said.

"In my opinion, he was the mastermind behind this. What still shocks me most is the massive breach of trust.
"He should receive a punishment that deters any potential copycats."
The family's lawyer, Thilo Damm, echoed concerns about the sentence, stating: "We do not agree with everything the court said. You can rest assured that we will exhaust all legal possibilities at our disposal."
Damm also raised additional security concerns about the case.
"We don't know where the missing hard drive is. I don't have a crystal ball, but there is the possibility of another threat through the backdoor," he warned.
Markus Fritsche received a two-year suspended sentence last week for his role in a plot to sell private photos and medical records of Michael Schumacher.
The former security guard was convicted as an accessory to attempted extortion after prosecutors claimed he sold information to conspirators for a five-figure sum.
The blackmail attempt involved threats to release a vast collection of private materials on the dark web unless the Schumacher family paid €15 million.

The materials included approximately 900 photographs and nearly 600 videos of the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion and his family.
The conspirators also threatened to release digital copies of Schumacher's medical files.
