Earlier this week, it was claimed Michael Schumacher can no longer communicate verbally as he continues to recover from his tragic skiing accident in 2013.
Having gone through his F1 career breaking record after record, and avoiding any serious injuries, the 56-year-old's world changed forever on a family holiday.
Schumacher tragically veered off course and struck his head on a rock. Though he would later return home, having spent some time in a medically induced coma, his condition has been closely guarded in the years since.
Earlier this week, RTL reporter Felix Gorner, who is believed to be close to the F1 icon's family, opened up on the motoring legend.

He described the situation as 'very sad' and claimed that Schumacher can no longer communicate verbally as a result of his injuries.
"The situation is very sad," he said. "He needs constant care and is completely dependent on his caregivers. And he can no longer express himself verbally."
Schumacher's family have always insisted the lack of updates on the 56-year-old is down to a desire to 'protect' him and his privacy.
There have, however, been numerous heartbreaking updates on the F1 icon's condition over the years - even if much is kept secret.]

Close friend Roger Benoit, speaking in 2023, said that Schumacher was a 'case without hope'.
"No," he told Blick when asked if he was able to provide an update on Schumacher and his condition.
"There is only one answer to this question and that is what his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022: ‘I would give anything to talk to dad’.
"This sentence says everything about how his father has been doing for over 3500 days. A case without hope.”

Former Ferrari boss Jean Todt is one man who has access to Schumacher in 2025, meaning he's part of a small group.
He has always respected the family's wishes to keep details of Schumacher's health to a minimum as a result.
Todt did say in 2023, however, that Schumacher was no longer the same person following his tragic skiing accident.
“Michael (Schumacher) is here, so I don't miss him," he told L'Equipe.

"He is different and he is wonderful manner assisted by his wife and children, who protect him.
"His life has changed and I am privileged to be able to share moments with him from time to time.
"There is nothing more to say. Unfortunately, fate struck ten years ago, and he is no longer the Michael we know from Formula 1."
Michael Schumacher has been described as 'different' by his wife Corinna as he continues to live away from the spotlight

Perhaps the saddest update on Schumacher of them all came from his wife, Corinna, who has continued to care for her husband all these years on.
"Michael is here. Different, but he's here, and that gives us strength, I find," she said in 2021. "He still shows me how strong he is every day."
Schumacher, in 2025, continues to fight.
But, barring a miracle, it appears he'll still live away from the spotlight in order to receive the care, privacy and dignity he deserves.
