F1 icon Michael Schumacher is 'sitting at the dinner table', Johnny Herbert has revealed after hearing information about the stricken star.
The German won seven Formula One titles during his years in the sport, an achievement only Lewis Hamilton has been able to match in the years since.
Throughout his career in the sport, Schumacher was able to avoid any serious injuries.
However, his life changed forever in December 2013 when he crashed while skiing in the French Alps.

Schumacher struck his head on a rock and sustained life-changing, serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Over a decade on and the 55-year-old's condition is shrouded in secrecy, with the German living away from the public eye.
Yet Herbert, speaking to BettingSites.co.uk, has heard Schumacher is able to sit at the table for dinner.
"I hear bits only second hand," he said.
"I hear, from those within F1, he does sit at the table for dinner but don’t know if that is true.
"I can only read between the lines.
"We haven’t heard much from the family and understandably so.
"That has always been very much a part of Michael and the family’s way to keep everything very private, very secretive.
"That has carried on from his racing days.
"I don’t feel things have moved on in a way that many of us who knew him and many of his fans around the world want to see.
"They’d love to know, we’d all love to know that things are moving on in a positive way.
"But because we don’t have any information, we can only assume that he is not yet in a position where there is a chance of a recovery."
Herbert also says he feels Schumacher's family are waiting for a scientific breakthrough that will help improve the German's way of life.
"In my opinion, and I must stress this, because we haven’t heard anything from the family, it shows that unfortunately he is probably in the similar situation as he was straight after the accident," he continued.
"It doesn’t seem they have moved much, if at all.

"I suppose the family is waiting for science to come up with something that will hopefully bring back the Michael we all knew and for the people who only saw him through the television pictures when he was being dynamic on a race track."
The Schumacher family prefer to keep details of Schumacher's condition under wraps.
And wife Corinna, speaking in 2021, admitted in a Netflix documentary that her husband was 'different' than before.
"Michael is here. Different, but he's here, and that gives us strength, I find," she said.
"He still shows me how strong he is every day.

"We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he's comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond.
"And no matter what, I will do everything I can.
"We all will. We're trying to carry on as a family, the way Michael liked it and still does. And we are getting on with our lives.
"'Private is private', as he always said. It's very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible.
"Michael always protected us, and now we are protecting Michael."
