For the Schumacher family, it is great news.

But the announcement came just days after a sad update on Michael who, nearly 12 years on from his tragic skiing accident, continues to live away from the public eye.

Little is known about the legendary Formula One star, who won seven titles during his career to establish himself as one of the best drivers in the history of the sport.

However, RTL reporter Felix Gorner recently provided an update on Schumacher - and one that will hurt everybody who has followed the Ferrari hero.

Gorner claimed that Schumacher, after his accident, was in need off 'constant care'.

Furthermore, he also said that the F1 legend was 'no longer able to express himself verbally'.

Gorner said: "The situation is very sad.

"He needs constant care and is completely dependent on his caregivers. And he can no longer express himself verbally."

"Currently, there's a maximum of 20 people who can approach Michael," the reporter continued.

"And in my opinion it's the right strategy. Because the family is acting in Michael's best interests.
