Ralf Schumacher recently touched on his brother's time in Formula One - but didn't answer any questions on his sibling's condition in 2025

Michael Schumacher's brother, Ralf Schumacher, recently gave an interview when he touched on his early relationship with the F1 icon and their time in the sport together.

But questions on his sibling's condition in 2025 were, understandably, banned.

Ralf spoke to The Times over the weekend and opened up on some happy memories they shared.

The 49-year-old, who won six races during his own career, reflected on when they both made the podium of the 2001 Canadian Grand Prix.

He described that as one of the happiest memories of his Formula One career, while also revealing that his older brother was a mentor - rather than a rival - when they were growing up together.

But the report also said that questions about Schumacher, post-skiing accident, were forbidden.

That, after all, is no surprise. The family have done a brilliant job of keeping details about the F1 legend private, 11 years after their worlds were turned upside down.

In December 2013, Schumacher tragically veered off course while skiing in the French Alps and hit his head on a rock.

After being air-lifted to hospital, he was placed in a medically induced coma. For a while, it looked as though he wouldn't make it.

But Schumacher, with the same fighting spirit he displayed during his days on the track, managed to survive.

Little is known about his condition today. That's the way his family like it.

Schumacher's wife Corinna, who has worked tirelessly to make the German's life as comfortable as possible, has previously said that her husband is 'different'.

In a 2021 Netflix documentary, she said: "Michael is here. Different, but he's here, and that gives us strength, I find."

She also revealed some details about their life together, adding: "We live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he's comfortable. And to simply make him feel our family, our bond.

"And no matter what, I will do everything I can. We all will.

"We're trying to carry on as a family, the way Michael liked it and still does. And we are getting on with our lives.

"'Private is private', as he always said. It's very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible. Michael always protected us, and now we are protecting Michael."

Only a few are allowed access to Schumacher.

As a result, those hoping to know more about the 56-year-old are likely to never get their wish.

That is for the best. Schumacher and his family deserve their right to privacy and the ban on questions about his condition are likely to last forever.
