The Briton will be hoping to win his first race of the season on Sunday

Lewis Hamilton's beloved bulldog Roscoe is currently battling pneumonia, according to a health update from his caretaker.

Kirstin McMillan, who looks after the famous dog whilst the Formula One star travels the world racing, revealed the diagnosis via social media.

Despite the illness, fans have been reassured that Roscoe is expected to make a full recovery as the condition is not considered too serious.

The vegan bulldog is receiving a combination of medical treatments to help him get back to health - but Hamilton is likely to be concerned nonetheless.

McMillan shared that Roscoe is being treated with strong antibiotics for his pneumonia.

Additionally, he's receiving complementary holistic care from an integrative veterinarian who combines Eastern and Western medical practices.

The vet, who trained at Davis before pursuing additional qualifications in holistic methods, is administering a high-dose Vitamin C IV drip as supportive care.

Acupuncture is also part of Roscoe's treatment plan, showcasing the comprehensive approach being taken to ensure his swift recovery.

"This is in addition to the strong antibiotics that he is correctly on for his pneumonia."

She added: "And she'll do acupuncture on him. So this supports him."
