Former Formula One star David Coulthard has become engaged to Swedish model Sigrid Silversand during a romantic getaway in Mauritius.
The 53-year-old racing legend proposed to his 29-year-old girlfriend, with the news being revealed by ex-F1 team boss Eddie Jordan.
The couple, who have been together for four years, made their relationship public when they were first spotted together in 2023.
The engagement news emerged after Jordan disclosed the details in an interview published on Boat International's website earlier this week.

Jordan shared his delight for his "old mate" in the interview, revealing intimate details of the proposal.
"I've got to send a very special congratulations to my old mate David Coulthard, who's just run off to Mauritius and got engaged to a Swedish model 23 years his junior!" Jordan wrote.
The former team boss couldn't resist adding a playful jibe about the couple's height difference.
"She's taller than him, which I like to remind him about as often as I can," Jordan quipped.

According to the Daily Mail, Coulthard approached the proposal in a traditional manner, acting as a "proper gentleman" throughout the process.
Silversand expressed her surprise at the engagement, praising her fiancé's ability to keep the plans under wraps.
"It was a surprise as David is really good at hiding," Silversand said.
She particularly appreciated his traditional approach to the proposal.

"He kept it a secret and asked my parents for permission to marry me," she revealed. "He's a proper gentleman and there are only a few of them left."
Reports suggest the 13-time Grand Prix winner felt confident about popping the question after their four years together.
The relationship between Coulthard and Silversand became public when they were spotted hand-in-hand in 2023.
This came after Coulthard's previous marriage to Karen Minier ended in 2022 after nine years together.

Speaking on the Formula For Success podcast, Coulthard said: "I got a glowing report there and also a medical report. I had my testosterone checked and I am in the top one per cent of males apparently."
Following his retirement from professional racing in 2008, Coulthard has made Monaco his permanent residence.
