The original encounter began awkwardly when MGK failed to understand Brundle's opening greeting.

"I had no idea what you said, but thank you," the musician responded after a lengthy pause.

When asked about his career, MGK simply stated: "I don't think about my career."

The exchange ended with MGK giving a thumbs down to the camera before storming off after Brundle had turned down the chance to join in with an air guitar.

Speaking to The Sun at the O2 event, Brundle revealed: "I saw him earlier on and he didn't recognise me, thank God."

It marked a stark contrast to their viral grid walk moment that had amassed millions of views online.

The former racing driver appeared content to avoid revisiting their previous uncomfortable exchange.

Brundle admitted he "hates" watching his grid walks back, despite their popularity with viewers.

"I'm one sentence away from the end of my career at all times, or being cancelled," he confessed.

The veteran broadcaster described the segments as "terrifying" because they're live and "pure car crash television".

He noted that encounters like those with Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Thee Stallion are what viewers enjoy most.

"And then I meet some really lovely, fascinating, world-class people, politicians and royalty and movie stars," Brundle added.

Brundle also acknowledged fans' frustration when celebrities on the grid know nothing about Formula One.

"We watch Formula 1 year in, year out, racing ourselves, and they're on the grid and they actually don't know anything about it," he said.

He understands when guests "quite clearly don't really want to be there" and are "just selling a movie".

The former F1 driver revealed he often receives lists of 70 potential grid guests before races.

"Half of them don't turn up," he admitted, with Las Vegas particularly affected by no-shows.
