A Ferrari fan has been fined by local police after cutting down a tree to get a better view of Lewis Hamilton testing his new Formula 1 car at Fiorano.

The enthusiast was caught on camera felling the small tree during Hamilton's first shakedown in his 2025 Ferrari vehicle.


The incident drew widespread condemnation on social media after footage emerged of the destructive act.

Local authorities in Fiorano Modenese issued a penalty to the fan for "damaging nature in a public place".

The incident sparked fury across social media platforms, with many condemning the actions of those involved.

"Cutting down a tree doesn't register as something to cheer for any more. I hope they planted 10 in its place somewhere else," one outraged viewer commented.

Another spectator wrote: "I understand Tifosi are die-hard fans, but this is out of hand. That tree was there for however long and wasn't a problem until now. Hopefully they plant a new one."

"I'm sure Lewis Hamilton wouldn't approve of this," added another social media user.

Hamilton, known for his environmental awareness, has been warmly welcomed by Ferrari's passionate fanbase, known as the Tifosi.

Reflecting on his first experience at Fiorano, Hamilton shared his anticipation of meeting the fans: "I knew that I would see the Tifosi on the bridge and I was like, 'Where is the bridge? What bridge are they talking about?'"

"And then finally I get to Turn 1 and see them down there, so that was amazing to see," he added.
