Ralf Schumacher's row with ex-wife Cora Schumacher continues to escalate

Cora Schumacher, ex-wife of former Formula One star Ralf Schumacher, has made an emotional plea for him to 'leave her alone' so she can 'heal in peace', a decade after their divorce.

The 47-year-old reality TV star was married to Ralf, 49, for 13 years before their split in 2014.

The public appeal comes months after Ralf, younger brother of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, came out as gay in July and revealed his relationship with French business manager Etienne Bousquet-Cassagne.

Cora has recently checked into therapy after experiencing panic attacks, claiming she only discovered her ex-husband's sexuality through Instagram this year.

"I finally want to put my past behind me and I wish Ralf would let me heal in peace so that I can finally start living my life carefree," she told Bild.

The revelation has "opened up many old wounds" following their divorce a decade ago, according to Cora.

She maintains this was the first time she learned of Ralf's relationship with Bousquet-Cassagne, despite her ex-husband's claims to the contrary.

According to reports, Ralf Schumacher is pursuing legal action against his ex-wife to prevent her from making statements about their relationship and his sexuality on social media.

Cora's lawyer, Verena Haisch, expressed strong criticism of Ralf's actions, stating: "It is bad enough that Ralf Schumacher took the mother of their son by surprise with his coming out, then attacked her legally and refused to reach an agreement."

Haisch warned that court proceedings could backfire for Ralf, suggesting they would "clarify" details about his sexuality during their marriage.

The feud between the former couple has intensified since Ralf's announcement in July.

Cora initially claimed she had "wasted her best years" on Ralf, who responded by leaking WhatsApp messages appearing to show her congratulating him on his new relationship.

She countered that she only learned of his sexuality this summer, despite having doubts during their marriage.
